SCALE
MAMON’S Urban Nest is a bespoke 2500 sq. ft. penthouse in Uttara, Dhaka, designed and executed entirely from the brick-wall stage by Zero Inch Interiors Ltd. Rooted in the principles of earthy minimalism, open-plan living, and quiet luxury, this penthouse transforms a conventional 4-bedroom developer layout into a calming, functional, and deeply personalized 3-bedroom sanctuary.
From the first layer of brick to the final lighting detail, this project reflects the Zero Inch ethos: simplicity, sustainability, and soulful design.
Client Vision & Design Objectives
A seasoned entrepreneur in the garment industry, Mr. Mamon desired a penthouse that felt quietly luxurious yet profoundly comforting. He envisioned an open and airy space layered with warm tones and natural textures — a home that inspires calmness, functionality, and emotional resonance.
Our Core Goals:
- Redesign the standard 4-bedroom plan into a breathable 3-bedroom layout
- Craft a seamless flow for both family living and occasional entertaining
- Use earthy tones and tactile materials to evoke warmth
- Deliver custom, intuitive design features tailored to the client’s lifestyle
Design Challenges & Smart Layout Revisions
While working from the brick-wall stage allowed creative freedom, the initial developer layout posed fragmentation. Zero Inch Interiors restructured the spatial arrangement to reflect both aesthetic and functional clarity.
Key Layout Changes:
- Reconfigured walls for improved airflow and natural light
- Created smooth transitions between public and private zones
- Integrated daily-use elements like drying areas and transition closets
- Simplified circulation while maximizing usable space
Material Palette & Bespoke Finishes
This penthouse interior embraces warmth and subtle contrast:
- Walls: Textured beige stucco
- Flooring: Continuous beige-toned marble
- Accents: Matte black-stained wood
- Textures: Natural stone, metal inserts, and layered surfaces
- Furniture: Entirely custom-made by Zero Inch Furniture to ensure cohesion in tone, proportion, and detail
Room-by-Room Exploration
Living Room
A clean-lined, low-profile seating arrangement defines the living space. A natural stone backdrop enhances the TV wall, complemented by floating black metal shelves. The lighting design adapts to different moods and times of day.
Dining Area
At its heart, a handcrafted 8-seater marble-top table with minimalist chairs. A floating pendant serves as the sculptural centerpiece.
Kitchen
Designed for both aesthetics and utility, the galley-style kitchen features modular cabinetry with high-performance HPL finishes, dedicated task zones, and smart LED lighting.
Bedrooms
Each bedroom balances serenity and storage:
- Built-in cabinetry integrated into wall systems
- A unique closet for lightly-used outerwear
- A tucked-away drying zone for rainy days
Bathrooms
Streamlined with soft stone tiles, black fixtures, and hidden storage, the bathrooms echo the penthouse’s minimal, tactile aesthetic.
Balcony
A peaceful escape, the balcony includes soft landscaping and a suspended swing—perfect for slow mornings or reflective evenings.
Craftsmanship & Sustainability at the Core
- All furniture was handcrafted by Zero Inch Furniture
- Low-VOC paints and LED lighting support indoor air quality and energy savings
- Construction and material planning minimized waste
- Built-in flexibility allows future adaptability without major renovations
From Brick to Bespoke: Execution Highlights
One of the most rewarding aspects of this penthouse was the trust placed in us from inception. The client entrusted Zero Inch with not just design, but decisions that shaped how he would live.
Even small additions—like a swing, a quick-change closet, or a tucked drying zone—were deeply appreciated. These thoughtful elements added immeasurable value to everyday life.
The Final Result: A Quietly Luxurious Penthouse in Dhaka
- MAMON’S Urban Nest is more than a beautifully finished penthouse—it’s an intentional space where calm, utility, and soul converge. Every texture, light source, and line flows in harmony with the client’s lifestyle.
